Face Masks

So, recommendations about face masks have recently changed. The CDC now “recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.”

They still don’t want people buying medical grade face masks, understandably, because our heroic healthcare workers need every single one of them right now. Fortunately, a basic cotton face mask is pretty easy to make at home for anyone who has a sewing machine. You don’t have to be a master seamstress; if you own a sewing machine I guarantee you have the skills to make a mask. And if you don’t own a sewing machine but you wish you could have a homemade cotton mask of your very own, don’t worry, because guess how I’ve been passing these endless days stuck at home when it’s too cold and wet to venture outside? Yup, I’ve been sewing masks. Lots of masks. Enough to share.

If you’re game for trying to make your own mask, there are a lot of patterns available online, but I’d be happy to email you a PDF of the pattern and instructions I’m using. And if you’re not equipped to make your own and would like a couple of the ones I’ve made, let me know. Either way, send me an email if I can help you cover some faces! relaxedrabbitmassage@gmail.com
