What’s new this fall
The temps are dropping, the rain is back, and it’s a fine time to relax under a blanket on a cozy, heated massage table. Here’s what to expect if you’re ready to venture out for a massage this fall.
With COVID still circulating, even among those who are vaccinated, masks are back. Once again you’ll need to wear a mask to enter the salon, and a face covering will be required during your massage. As always, I have alternate face coverings available if you find your mask too restrictive while lying face down.
With the chilly weather making it impractical to ventilate the massage room the old fashioned way (with an open window), I’ve added an air purifier to the space. While its white noise may not blend seamlessly into the relaxing soundtrack of chirping birds and babbling waters, I hope you’ll take comfort in knowing that the odd-looking giant box humming away in the corner is doing a stellar job purifying the air we’re breathing.
Another small, but important (to me) change is that in an effort to reduce my use of single-use plastics, I will no longer have plastic water bottles available for clients. I am replacing the disposable bottles with a Berkey water filtration system. I’ve been using a similar system to filter drinking water in my home for years, and I hope you’ll agree that it can transform even Tacoma’s unappetizing tap water into a glass of pure refreshment. So if you’re accustomed to taking your hydration to-go after a massage, I encourage you to bring your own reusable bottle.
